Questions for Rick Minnich

I have a question for you guys regarding Rick Minnich's film, is it a true story? It is a documentary but it says it was written by him, and that could just be the structure, but the story seems so strange I can't understand if it is true or not.

How long did it take you to come to terms with making this film? It must have been an incredibly difficult thing to do.

What do you hope your film accomplishes?/ Why was it important for this film to be made?

Was making the film just a way for you to work through your own issues or to bring something else about?

What did you learn while making this?
